Moran registered four points for the victors and his movement caused Tipperary problems.

The Ballaghaderreen forward was hugely effective for Mayo, who advanced to a third All Ireland Final in five years.

When Mayo were encountering some bother in the opening period Keith Higgins provided inspiration.

The Ballyhaunis man drove through the heart of the Tipperary defence to set up Jason Doherty's crucial goal.

It was a vital moment during a brilliant burst from Stephen Rochford's team who seized the initiative as the interval approached.
