Holders Cuala, still being prompted by the splendid Con O'Callaghan, impressed once more in Dublin and Leinster.

Liam Mellows, managed by former Clare selector Louis Mulqueen, earned their first Galway crown since 1970 and will be anxious to make a solid start in Thurles.

David Collins, Tadhg Haran, and Aonghus Callanan have previously featured for Galway and are influential figures for Mellows.

Cuala's panel is sprinkled with talented performers with Oisin Gough, Cian O'Callaghan, Paul Schutte, Darragh O'Connell, David Treacy, and Con O'Callaghan competent performers.

Mattie Kenny's outfit are eager to retain the title they won in such classy and convincing fashion last March.
