Alan Dempsey contributed seven points for Limerick, who defeated Waterford at Dungarvan.

John Kiely's determined team delivered a polished second half display to earn the Munster Hurling League spoils.

Waterford led by 1-10 to 0-10 at half-time courtesy of a delightful DJ Foran goal. But Limerick, who trailed by 1-10 to 0-5 at one stage, responded impressively.

John Fitzgibbon, Dempsey, Seanie Tobin and Gearoid Hegarty all made a scoring impact for the Treatymen.

In Mallow Cork eventually overcame a spirited Kerry challenge. Darragh Fitzgibbon's opening period goal helped Cork into a 1-12 to 0-14 half-time advantage.

Kerry edged ahead early in the third quarter, but Cork, featuring several promising youngsters, recovered hitting 13 points without reply. Shane Kingston was Cork's top scorer with nine points.
