It was a seismic weekend in the Allianz Hurling League as three Division 1B teams – Wexford, Galway, and Limerick – turned over three Division 1A teams – Kilkenny, Waterford, and Cork – in the League quarter-finals.

Clare also managed to hold onto their Division 1A status for another year after defeating Dublin in the relegation play-off, and Tipperary proved too strong for Offaly in the fourth quarter-final.
