Derek McGrath will remain in charge of the Waterford hurling team in 2018.

The highly rated McGrath guided Waterford to the 2017 All Ireland Final.

Galway defeated The Deise in that decider and McGrath has opted to continue as Waterford boss.

A statement from Waterford GAA confirmed the news: "We would like to confirm that Derek McGrath and his Management Team have committed to the 2018 season with Waterford.

"This was unanimously ratified at a meeting of the Waterford Executive Committee."
