Waterford SHC Final

Ballygunner 2-18 De La Salle 0-16

Conor Power was Ballygunner’s two-goal hero as they won a fourth Waterford SHC Final in a row at the expense of De La Salle today.

His first goal came after 11 minutes and helped Ballygunner into a 1-8 to 0-7 half-time lead.

When he struck for his second after 46 minutes it pushed Ballygunner into a 2-14 to 0-11 lead and the writing was on the wall for De La Salle.

They kept plugging away but were overly reliant on converted frees from Shane Ryan who struck seven of them over the course of the hour.

Ballygunner had a eagle-eyed marksman of their own, with joint-captain Pauric Mahony finishing as the game’s top-scorer with a tally of nine points, all but two of which came from frees.

Clooney Quin v Sixmilebridge - Clare County Senior Hurling Championship Final

Clooney Quin v Sixmilebridge - Clare County Senior Hurling Championship Final

Clare SHC Final replay

Sixmilebridge 1-20 Clooney-Quin 1-14

A dominant second-half performance saw Sixmilebridge power to victory over Clooney-Quin in today’s Clare SHC Final replay.

The ‘Bridge clearly learned a lot from their close escape against the underdogs last weekend and put those lessons to good effect today.

They hurled with a lot more intensity than they did in the drawn game and scoring the first three points of the match was an early statement of intent.

Six points first-half points from Peter Duggan kept Clooney-Quin in touch as they trailed by just two points by the break, but Sixmilebridge took control of the contest in the second-half.

A Brian Corry goal at the start of that second-half gave them an irresistible momentum that proved too much for Clooney-Quin to contain.

Blackrock v Imokelly - Cork County Senior Hurling Championship Final

Blackrock v Imokelly - Cork County Senior Hurling Championship Final

Cork SHC Final

Imokilly 3-13 Blackrock 0-18

Goals proved crucial for Imokilly as they won their first Cork senior hurling title in 19 years today.

The first of them came from Cian Fleming after 20 minutes and helped the divisional side into a 1-7 to 0-8 half-time lead.

Cork star Seamus Harnedy struck for Imokilly’s second goal in the second minute of the second-half to push his team five points clear, and from then on Blackrock were playing catch-up.

The Rockies fought hard right to the final whistle, but were finally put to the sword when Imokilly sub Brian Mulcahy struck his team’s third goal.

Ballygalget v Slaughtneil - AIB Ulster GAA Hurling Senior Club Championship Final

Ballygalget v Slaughtneil - AIB Ulster GAA Hurling Senior Club Championship Final

Ulster Club SHC Final

Slaughtneil (Derry) 2-21 Ballygalget (Down) 1-12

Slaughtneil retained their Ulster club SHC title in some style by seeing off Down champions Ballygalget at the Athletic Grounds today.

Cormac Doherty was the main-man for the Derry side, scoring 1-10 of his team’s total.

Slaughtneil led by four-points after a hard-fought first-half, but their dominance became more pronounced the longer the game went on.

The most decisive moment of the match came after 53 minutes when Ballygalget’s Mark Fisher was sent off for a second yellow-card after pulling down Gerard Bradley in the square, and Doherty lashed the resulting penalty to the back of the net.

Wexford SHC Final

St. Martin's 2-16 Oulart-The Ballagh 1-9

St. Martin's defeated reigning champions Oulart-The Ballagh with some style in today's Wexford SHC Final.

It took them a little time to warm to the task initially and they trailed after the first quarter by four points, but they were energised by a Ciaran Lyng goal and by the break had moved 1-7 to 1-5 ahead.

St. Martin's took control of the contest as the second-half progressed moving four points ahead with ten minutes to go.

The finished the match with a flourish as a well-taken goal by Joe O'Connor sealed the club's first County Senior Hurling title since 2008 and just their third in total.

Sligo SHC Final

Calry-St. Josephs 2-15 Western Gaels 3-10

Calry-St Joseph’s have made it seven Sligo senior hurling championships in a row, but they were made work very hard by a doughty Western Gaels outfit.

The Gaels actually looked like the likelier winners at half-time when they deservedly led by 2-6 to 0-9.

But Calry-St. Josephs showed a lot of composure in the second-half and two goals proved crucial as they edged to a hard-fought two point win.

Dublin SHC Semi-Final

Kilmacud Crokes 1-13 Lucan Sarsfields 0-13

Ross O’Carroll’s goal proved crucial for Kilmacud Crokes as they edged out Lucan Sarsfields in today’s Dublin SHC semi-final.

There was little between the two teams for most of the contest until O’Carroll struck for his goal in the 58th minute of the match.

That pushed Kilmacud 1-11 to 0-12 ahead, and gave them enough of a buffer to resist a late charge from Sarsfields.

Cuala v St Vincent's - Dublin County Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Final

Dublin SHC Semi-Final

Cuala 4-16 St. Vincent's 2-16

Reigning All-Ireland Champions Cuala are through to another County Final after a hard-fought win over a St. Vincent's team that included county football star Diarmuid Connolly in their ranks.

Two first-half goals from Colm Cronin and one from Cian Waldron helped Cuala into a 3-8 to 2-7 lead, but St. Vincent's stuck gamely to the task and midway through the second half drew level.

Cuala finished the stronger side though as points from David Treacy and a salvo of 1-1 from Con O'Callaghan give them a winning momentum.
