Clare joint manager Donal Moloney is hopeful David McInerney will be available for the July 9 Munster SHC Final against Cork.

McInerney is a concern with a hamstring injury, but Moloney confirmed that Podge Collins has recovered from an ankle complaint.

“Hopeful that he’s going to make it," Moloney stated about McInerney's chances. "He’s going through his rehab, working very, very hard. We’ll probably know better by the weekend.

“The last time we were probably together, Oisin O’Brien wouldn’t have been back in training. He’s returned since so it’s a great plus for us as well.

“It’s hard to keep Podge down. Podge is going well."

Regarding the Munster decider being played at Semple Stadium, Moloney is satisfied that the game will take place in Thurles. “We’d rather play them in Thurles than Páirc Uí Chaoimh," Moloney added.

"We like Thurles. If we had to go to Páirc Uí Chaoimh, it wouldn’t have been an issue either, but you’ve got be practical and say it would have to be an advantage for Cork, if we played them down there.

"We like playing in Thurles, it’s been good for us from an underage perspective over the years. We like going there."

Moloney is 'delighted' that Clare will be involved a Super 11 fixture against Tipperary at Fenway Park, Boston in November. "Our county secretary Pat Fitzgerald has been involved in it," Moloney says.

"It's something to look forward to. We're delighted. It's a huge honour. It's something we'll look forward to go to the States in November."
