Tyrone SFC Final

Coalisland 1-13 Killyclogher 0-16

By Kevin Kelly at Healy Park

Coalisland and Killyclogher must do it all over again after a cracking Tyrone senior championship final ended in stalemate at Healy Park on Sunday afternoon.

Teenager Nathan Donnelly proved to be the Killyclogher hero with a fisted equaliser deep into injury time to earn his side a deserved second bite of the cherry.

Killyclogher had played the last twenty minutes with only fourteen men after they lost Gary Wallace to a black card having earlier picked up a yellow one. It was a cracking decider with the sides level no fewer than eleven times.

At the end of the opening quarter it was 0-3 apiece with Mark Bradley and Plunkett Kane on target for their respective sides before Bradley and James Carlin edged Killyclogher two in front.

Coalisland though had the better of things for the rest of the half with Padraig Hampsey, Brian Toner and Dermot Thornton helping them to lead 0-8 to 0-7 at the interval.

Leo Meenan soon had the sides level before a long range Bradley free put Killyclogher back in front. Substitute Simon O’Neill then made it a two point game but in the 40th minute Cathaoir Quinn blasted in a Coalisland goal as the lead changed hands again.

By the end of the third quarter though Killyclogher were back in front thanks to another O’Neill brace. Killyclogher were looking the better side at this stage despite being a man down but Coalisland rallied with points from Peter McGahan and Thornton bringing them level again.

Tomas Flanagan and Stephen McNally traded points as did Aidy Kelly and McGahan before a superb effort from Kane nudged Coalisland in front.  They couldn’t hold on though with Donnelly bursting through to fist a priceless equaliser for Killyclogher.
