A second ever Championship clash involving Limerick and Mayo brings a certain intrigue.

Mayo suffered losses to Galway in 2016 and 2017 summoning gutsy responses by advancing to All Ireland Finals in both those campaigns. That Mayo nearly hoisted Sam Maguire merely added to the drama which is almost inevitable when the Green and Red are involved.

Billy Lee's Limerick were soundly beaten in Munster by Clare and know the daunting challenge that awaits on home turf.
