Electric Ireland Connacht Minor Football Championship Semi-Finals**

Galway v Roscommon, Pearse Stadium, 7:30pm

Stephen Joyce’s Galway will host Roscommon at Pearse Stadium as the Tribesmen’s minor footballers look to follow up on an impressive win over Mayo.

Joyce is seeking his third successive Connacht title with the Galway minors, who will have to overcome Roscommon in Salthill.

Galway made light work of a Roscommon challenge at the same stage last year on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-7, but the Rossies will be keen on correcting the record in  their bid to reach a first provincial final since 2014.

Roscommon will have the keep a close eye on midfielder Daniel Kelly, who coasted up from centrefield to bury two goals as Galway eliminated Mayo from the Championship.

Sligo v Leitrim, Markievicz Park, 7.30pm

Sligo and Leitrim only have won five Connacht MFC between them, but they have a chance to add another title to their name.

Sligo haven’t won a provincial title since 1968, but were agonisingly close two years ago when they brought Galway to a replay, only to suffer a 4-12 to 1-8 defeat in the second encounter.

This year, they’ll look to go one better, but first they must defeat Leitrim at Markievicz Park.

Leitrim haven’t contested a Connacht MFC Final in 15 years, but are hopeful having avoided Mayo, Galway and Roscommon, who have captured 47 out of the last 48 provincial crowns.

Both counties will be hoping to advance to the final where the game will precede the Connacht Senior Football Championship Final between Galway and Roscommon.
