Classy Monaghan forward Jack McCarron has come out on top in the public vote for this week's GAA.ie Footballer of the Week.

He starred for the Farney County as they ground out a hugely impressive Allianz League Division 1 victory over Kerry in Killarney.

McCarron earned 2,013 votes on the GAA's official Twitter (@officialgaa), Facebook, and Instagram pages with Louth's Ryan Burns second and Galway's Gareth Bradshaw third.

GAA.ie Footballer of the Week

1: Jack McCarron (Monaghan) - 2,013 (46%)

2: Ryan Burns (Louth) - 1,235 (28%)

3: Gareth Bradshaw (Galway) - 1,119 (26%)

Jack McCarron was Monaghan’s main man as they pulled off a highly impressive win over Kerry in Killarney on Sunday.

The skilful forward scored 1-3, 1-2 of which was from play, and there was a touch of class about them all, especially his first-half goal.

McCarron’s potential has been obvious from a young age, but his progress was hampered by some serious injuries, including a ruptured cruciate. If Monaghan can keep him fit he’ll be a massive asset for them.

The Louth footballers have been one of the success stories of the year so far. With three wins from three in Division Three, they’re now in with a real shout of being promoted for the second year in a row.

What’s been most impressive so far about them has been their clinical finishing in attack courtesy of players like Ryan Burns who was ruthless in their win over Offaly yesterday.

He finished with a tally of 2-3, and his expertly-taken two first-half goals laid the platform for the Wee County’s win.

Gareth Bradshaw recently turned 30 which qualifies him as a veteran in an era when the average age of inter-county players seems to be getting lower all the time.

He remains as athletic as ever though and also has the sort of quality on the ball for a defender that separates him from the herd.

He was superb for Galway in their Division 2 victory over Clare, driving his team forward from the half-back line and finishing with a tally of 1-2 from play to his name.
