Kerry v Mayo - GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship Semi-Final

Galway and Mayo have named their teams for Sunday’s eagerly anticipated Connacht SFC Quarter-Final at MacHale Park.

Galway have picked three Championship debutants in their team – full-back Seán Andy Ó Ceallaigh, midfielder Ciarán Duggan, and corner-forward Barry McHugh.

Mayo have named just one debutant, corner-back Eoin O’Donoghue, with 10 of the same starters from last year’s All-Ireland Final in their XV.

One of those is corner-back Keith Higgins who will be starting his first match of the year for the footballers, having played for the county hurlers during the League.

Team-captain Cillian O’Connor has recovered from a hamstring injury to line-out in the full-forward line for Mayo, where he’ll be joined by the evergreen Andy Moran who will be making an incredible 165th appearance for his county.

Any slim hopes that Mayo supporters had of Lee Keegan recovering from shoulder surgery in time to take his place in the team have been dashed, though.
