The Rebels contributed hugely to an entertaining encounter with Peter Kelleher and Brian Coakley effective.

Michael Plunkett (Mayo)
When Mayo were struggling in the first half Plunkett carried the fight impressively. Plunkett registered two important points at a key stage in the opening period.
Indeed the versatile Plunkett also provided the last pass for Mayo's first three goals to illustrate just how important he was to their approach.
Matthew Ruane (Mayo)
Throughout the match Matthew Ruane linked the play in a crucial way. When Mayo needed inspiration Ruane was prominent kicking one glorious point for Mayo, who finished strongly. Mayo were aware that the midfield battle would be significant and Ruane was influential.
Conor Loftus (Mayo)
In such a remarkable game Loftus had the honour of bagging the decisive goal. Loftus had earlier hit a vital major just as Cork were embarking on a daring comeback mission. Cork did eventually claw their way back to level terms, but then Loftus burst through to land a telling blow.
