Down Senior Football Championship Final

KILCOO 0-13 BURREN 0-11

Kilcoo produced a gritty second half display to claim a sixth Down SFC title on the spin at Pairc Esler, Newry.

Trailing by a point at the interval, Kilcoo restricted Burren to only four second half scores as the favourites eventually edged ahead.

Level at 0-9 each by the 38th minute, Kilcoo had sufficient class and character to land the important blows in the closing stages.

Donal O'Hare was a key opening period contributor for Burren, who settled impressively reeling off three points without reply at the outset.

Kilcoo responded, though, but Darragh O'Hanlon's penalty went over the bar. That effort had Burren 0-5 to 0-3 in front and it remained tight and tense until the break.

A splendid point from Burren's Kevin McKernan was a memorable moment as the underdogs led 0-7 to 0-6 at half-time.

When the action recommenced, though, Kilcoo were primed with Jerome Johnston and Aaron Morgan landing vital points.

Conaill McGovern was red carded for Burren, but Kilcoo, aided by Dylan Ward's impressive shooting finished strongly.

Darragh O Hanlon scored a point from a first half penalty for Kilcoo.

Fermanagh Senior Football Championship Final

DERRYGONNELLY HARPS 0-15 DEVENISH 0-8

Derrygonnelly Harps claimed a third Fermanagh SFC victory in a row at Brewster Park.

Devenish, with Terry O'Flanagan prominent, were defiant throughout, but Derrygonnelly just had too much power for the challengers.

Two O'Flanagan frees provided Devenish with an encouraging start, but Derrygonnelly were level at 0-3 each in the 11th minute followinga great Eamon McHugh effort.

Paul Ward and Kevin Cassidy registered points for Derrygonnelly, who led 0-9 to 0-5 at the turnaround.

Declan Cassidy and Garvan Jones added further Derrygonnelly scores in front of 3,123 spectators.

Devenish battled until the end, but a late Ryan Jones point sealed the deal.
