Allianz Football League Division 4

LAOIS 2-12 LIMERICK 0-9

Gary Walsh was the main man as Laois finished strongly to put Limerick to the sword in their Allianz Football League Division 4 clash on Saturday night.

He finished the match with a personal tally of 1-6, and his goal 15 minutes into the second half was the crucial score of the game.

It put Laois five points ahead, and Limerick never looked capable of reeling them in from there.

Laois finished the game with a flourish – that man Walsh setting up Paul Kingston for a late goal that added some gloss to the final score.

CARLOW 2-14 LONDON 2-9

Carlow have stated their determination to build on last year’s impressive Championship run and they backed up that talk with a deserved five-point win over London in Ruislip.

A goal from Eoghan Ruth helped the Leinster side into a 1-11 to 2-4 lead, with London’s goals coming from Liam Gavaghan and Eoin Murray.

Jordan Morrissey struck for a crucial second goal for Carlow after 56 minutes, and though the Exiles battled all the way to the final whistle the gap was too wide to bridge.
