Oral History

Patrick Gleeson

Paddy Gleeson is a 104 year old. He was never hugely involved in the GAA because he was fonder of hunting and claims that the gun was his hurl. He believes there was no real excitement about the GAA in his youth. His voice is quite weak and the recording is difficult to understand. The main point he discussed was the naming of Hurlers Cross. He talks a bit about the GAA during the War of Independence, but most of his focus is on the political events.
