Paddy Buggy

Paddy Buggy charts his hurling career playing for his local club Sliabh Ruadh and for the Kilkenny Senior team. He mentions some of the greatest former and current hurlers from Kilkenny and other counties. He discusses his time in Leinster Council adminsitration and then as a President of the GAA from 1982-1984. In this interview he talks about his life as a supporter, player and administrator. He gives particularly good accounts of the GAA’s treatment of The Troubles in North of Ireland and the political aspect of the GAA and mentions the ban on security forces. In this interview he talks about various people involved in the GAA from GAA Presidents, to inter-county managers, to personalities from his local club and by the end of the interview he tells some good stories related to the Association in different ways.
