Michael O'Grady

In this very short interview, Michael O’Grady discusses hurling in Mungret through the decades. He talks about the lack of organised games for young people in the area when he was growing up and consequent flight of players to other clubs for their juvenile hurling. O’Grady provides a number of snapshots of GAA history in Mungret – he comments on a period when no club existed at all in the area; he comments also on the reformation of a club in Mungret and the success that immediately followed. The interview concludes with a damning comparison of the current generation of Mungret hurlers with those who went before.
