McCaffrey expects Cluxton to commit for 2020 campaign

Jack McCaffrey says that, so far as he’s aware, Stephen Cluxton has committed to playing once again for the Dublin senior footballers this year.
“That’s the impression I have at the moment, the lads are away and I haven’t started back training yet so I obviously don’t know but I think so, yeah," said McCaffrey today when speaking in his role as a Denis Mahony Toyota brand ambassador.
Cluxton recently turned 38 and made his Championship debut back in 2001, but the passing of the years haven’t dulled his edge in the slightest.
The fact that he was PwC Footballer of the Year last year testifies to his enduring excellence.
Not surprisingly, McCaffrey is thrilled the Parnells club-man will be part of the panel again in 2020.
“Absolutely, he is who everyone knows he is in terms of his football and his influence he has on us as a team, but more importantly, he’s a really good friend so I would have been devastated if he finished up. It’ll be great to have him around.”
