Aer Lingus Super 11's Jersey Launch

Wexford's Lee Chin, Limerick's Diarmaid Byrnes, Kilkenny's Paul Murphy and Tipperary's Barry Heffernan were at Aer Lingus Hangar 6 at Dublin Airport where Aer Lingus, in partnership with the GAA & GPA, unveiled a one-of-a-kind customised playing kit for the New York Hurling Classic which takes place at Citi Field in New York on November 16.

Aer Lingus will once again be the Official Airline of the event and will be responsible for flying the four teams to New York. Aer Lingus is Ireland’s only 4-Star airline and has been involved in the Hurling Classic on three previous occasions where it has been played at Fenway Park in 2015, 2017 & 2018.

The specially commissioned O’Neill’s jerseys have several unique design features which make them stand-out from the four counties’ regular playing kit. These are:

  • Aer Lingus logo featuring on the jersey sleeve
  • GAA/GPA crest on front of jersey at opposite side to county crest
  • ‘New York Hurling Classic 2019’ embroidered text under county crest

The New York Hurling Classic will see All-Ireland hurling champions Tipperary compete against reigning holders Limerick, Kilkenny and Wexford in the Super 11s format. It will involve two semi-finals lasting 40 minutes with the winners proceeding to the final on the same day, Saturday November 16.

Aer Lingus is Ireland’s only 4 Star airline and operates up to four daily flights to New York flying from both Dublin and Shannon. Aer Lingus guests benefit from preclearing US immigration before stepping on board their flight. Fares start from €159 each-way when booked as a return trip.
