Ulster took most of the plaudits on Saturday as the province came away with the spoils at the M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincials in the Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown (I.T.B).

The day also marked the presentation of the M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincial All-Star Awards. Of the six awards on the 2015 Team of the Year, two were awarded to Ulster players with Geraldine McGarrigle claiming the goalkeeper position and Peter Lewis taking the midfield spot.

Munster led the way with three recipients as Sultan Kakar and Morris Noonan were selected in the two forward positions, with Ellie Sheehy awarded a spot in the backs. Connacht's Pat Carty joined Sheehy in the All-Star backline.

Munster's Kakar meanwhile claimed an additional award having finished as top-scorer in the league - the awards presented by Brian Armitage (Chairperson, National Games for All Committee), Mary Meaney (President, I.T.B), Martin Donnelly (sponsor) and Niall Corcoran (Dublin Hurler).

In the Team Management awards, Ulster GAA's Active Club coordinators - Shane McCann and Paul Callaghan were honoured, while Geraldine McGarrigle was honoured once more by claiming the Camogie Player of the Year award. Finally, matching the feat of Clare hurler Tony Kelly in 2013, Peter Lewis won both the Young Player and Hurler of the Year gongs.

The success for Ulster continued in the day's games in the M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Interprovincial All-Irelands as they defeated Munster in the All-Ireland Final 3-0. Following the final, Ulster's Conn Nagle was awarded with the GAA/GPA Player of the Tournament trophy by the presentation party of John Horan (Chairman, Leinster GAA), Martin McAviney (Chairman, Ulster GAA) and David Herity (Kilkenny Hurler) respectively.

With the All-Star awards and the All-Ireland title banked, 2015 sums up a hugely successful year for Ulster Wheelchair Hurling as they can now add to the cabinet, the All-Ireland trophy with the National League trophy, they won earlier in the year.
