GMIT secured a home quarter-final following a hard earned win over MTU Cork on Thursday evening.
Kevin Cooney starred for GMIT contributing 0-13 and the Galway side will now face TUS Midwest in the knockout stages.
Paddy Commins' first half goal ensured that GMIT led by 1-10 to 0-8 at the interval.
GMIT continued to impress after the restart with Cooney and Donal Mannion effective, but MTU Cork finished strongly.
An accomplished UL were always in control against TU Dublin.
UL's powerful attacking unit caused the home side huge problems throughout with Gearoid O'Connor nailing eight points.
Brian O'Sullivan, Mikey Kiely, Mark Rogers, and Billy Power (2) all netted goals for UL, who now play MTU Cork in the next round.
TU Dublin had started brightly, but three UL goals as the interval approached guided the visitors 3-11 to 0-10 in front at half-time.
An Alan Walsh goal narrowed the gap, but GMIT did enough to secure victory.
WIT cruised into the last eight of the Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup following a comprehensive 5-17 to 0-20 win over Maynooth University.
Padraig Fitzgerald, Ciarán Kirwan, Shane Bennett and Eoin O'Shea provided plenty of scores for WIT, who were 2-9 to 0-12 in front at half-time.
Fitzgerald thumped two opening period goals for the home side against a Jake O'Dwyer inspired Maynooth.
Ciaran Kirwan added a brace of goals before Bennett sealed the deal with WIT's fifth major.

DCU and IT Carlow were involved in a gripping game in the capital with the 2-13 to 3-10 draw sufficient to send the visitors into the knockout stages.
Martin Kavanagh and Niall Brassil grabbed first half goals for IT Carlow, who moved seven points ahead.

Another Galway senior star, Brian Concannon, was prominent too rifling over three points from play.

Despite the fact that Mary I and UCD are already out of contention for silverware they still served up an entertaining and goal laden 6-15 each draw in Limerick.
The tone was set when UCD struck two goals at the start courtesy of Diarmuid Ó Floinn and Cormac Foley.
Jack Ryan and Devon Ryan replied with Mary I goals near half-time as the Limerick outfit went in 2-9 to 2-6 in front at the break.
Andrew Ormond pounced for a third Mary I major with UCD's Ó Floinn subsequently netting.
It remained fast paced with Mary I's Devon Ryan, who concluded the contest with a 2-7 haul, and David Mescall adding further goals.
UCD, though, finished with a flourish bagging three goals in the closing stages.
A brace from Niall Heffernan and one from David O'Carroll edged UCD ahead before Bernie Butler levelled with a last gasp Mary I point.
