Wexford Senior Hurling Championship Final

Sunday August 23

Naomh Eanna v Shelmaliers, Chadwicks Wexford Park, 2pm

During the past decade Naomh Eanna and Shelmaliers have emerged as serious contenders in Wexford.

The Shels won their first senior hurling title six years ago, while Naomh Eanna triumphed two years ago.

Both clubs have been involved in some tense and thrilling battles in recent weeks.

Another highly competitive encounter should be added to the list on Sunday in the south east.

On the eve of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship, O'Loughlin Gaels and Dicksboro contest a League decider this weekend.

Carlow Senior Hurling Championship

Sunday August 23

Mount Leinster Rangers v Naomh Eoin, Netwatch Cullen Park, 1.30pm

Ballinkillen v St Mullins, Netwatch Cullen Park, 5.30pm

St Mullins have met Mount Leinster Rangers in four of the last five Carlow Senior Hurling Championship finals.

Naomh Eoin, who last won a county title in 2005, and Ballinkillen, without a crown since 2001, will be striving to cause a surprise.

Sunday August 23

Mount Sion v Passage, Walsh Park, 2pm

Ballygunner have set a seriously high standard in Waterford, but Lismore, with Maurice Shanahan scoring heavily, will hope to deliver another dynamic display.

Mount Sion (2014) and Passage (2016) have been beaten in county finals during Ballygunner's burst of dominance which has yielded six titles on the spin.
