Lory Meagher Cup

****The Lory Meagher Cup continues with the second round on Saturday.

Cavan and **Lancashire **will be targeting a first win of the campaign when they meet in Ballyconnell.

Cavan drew a topsy-turvy Ulster derby against Fermanagh last week, while Lancashire were unable to replicate the form that saw them win the Allianz Hurling League Division 3B title as they fell to a one-point defeat at home to Sligo.

Cavan will hope to again call on Cuala duo John and Colum Sheanon along with the likes of Seán Keating, Cormac Wall and Philip Brady to show the way.

Lancashire have a scoring machine in former Cork minor Ronan Crowley, with a remarkable 8-128 to his name in 11 games for the Exiles, who will also be looking to Greg Jacob, Martin Hawley, JJ Dunphy and Nathan Unwin to produce the goods.

Meanwhile, Sligo face Fermanagh in Tourlestrane.

Having just missed out on what would have been their third consecutive appearance in the Lory Meagher final last year, Sligo are looking to build on a good win over Lancashire in the opening round.

Fermanagh have slipped down the rankings since winning this competition in 2015 and they failed to take a point in the league, although they did take a share of the spoils from their clash with Cavan last week.

Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch, Larry Cadden and Ronan Cox should be prominent for Sligo, who won despite the absence of the likes of Kevin Gilmartin and Ruairí Brennan in Manchester. Fermanagh chance’s hinge on the form of Shea Curran, John Duffy, JP McGarry and Ryan Bogue.
