Bord Gais Energy All Ireland Under 21 Semi-Final

Limerick v Galway, Semple Stadium, 6pm

Seeking a second All Ireland Under 21 title in three years, Limerick will be eager to clear the Galway hurdle in Thurles.

So impressive when reclaiming the Munster crown, Limerick now want to deliver on the national stage once more.

Galway, managed by the well regarded Tony Ward, bring a team which includes several talented hurlers to Thurles.

Conor Whelan has been excellent for the Galway senior outfit, while Thomas Monaghan and Sean Loftus saw action as a substitute in the Leinster Final last month.

Daniel Nevin, who scored heavily in the Walsh Cup and Jack Grealish are other important players for the Tribesmen.

Limerick defeated Cork in the Munster Final with the exciting Aaron Gillane contributing six frees.

Sean Finn, Ronan Lynch, Kyle Hayes, Cian Lynch, Barry Nash, and Tom Morrisey are other accomplished performers for Limerick.

Three years ago Limerick proved far too strong for Galway in an All Ireland minor semi-final, emerging convincing 1-27 to 2-9 victors.

Nine of the team that started that encounter for the Treatymen are included in the Limerick XV.
