AIB All-Ireland Club IHC Semi-Finals

Monaleen (Limerick) 2-19 Bray Emmets (Wicklow) 0-20

Tooreen (Mayo) 1-18 Liatroim Fontenoys (Down) 1-14

It's 14 months since Monaleen were relegated from the Limerick senior hurling championship and they have clearly used their time wisely.

Intermediate champions thanks to October's six-point defeat of Bruff, they now have an AIB All-Ireland final at the grade to look forward to, against Tooreen of Mayo on Saturday January 14.

The Munster intermediate winners secured their place in the Croke Park decider thanks to a five-point win over a battling Bray Emmets.

The scoreline doesn't tell the true story because this was a battle throughout, level more than 10 times and ultimately decided by goals from Andrew La Touche Cosgrave and Dan Power in the final 10 minutes.

Leinster champions Bray led 0-11 to 0-10 at half-time and were on level terms half a dozen times through the second-half in Tullamore.

Free-taker Christy Moorehouse drilled 13 points for Bray who also benefited from a brace of points apiece by Mikey Boland and Diarmuid Masterson.

Monaleen scores from Ronan Lyons and Ed Doyle kept them right in it and those late goals, in the 53rd and 58th minutes, helped secure a landmark win for Eoin Brislane's side.

Like Monaleen, Mayo's Tooreen will be the first club from their county to contest a national intermediate final.

A goal in the opening quarter set Tooreen on their way to a 1-8 to 0-7 half-time lead in their refixtured semi-final at Kingspan Breffni.

The westerners stretched that lead to six points with 10 minutes remaining, giving themselves a vital cushion to absorb the concession of a late goal.
