Sean Brennan (Dublin)

Cuala club-man Sean Brennan had a League debut to remember for the Dublin hurlers in their Division 1B victory over Laois on Sunday.

The goalkeeper made three quality saves in the first half, the best of which was a reflex stop from a close-range Stephen ‘Picky’ Maher flick.

In a hard-fought match that Dublin only won by two points, Brennan’s clean-sheet was vital.

Shane Golden (Clare)

The middle third of the field was an absolute battle-ground in Sunday’s Allianz League Division 1A clash between Clare and Limerick and Golden shone brightest of all the combatants.

He won a huge amount of ‘dirty’ ball and made the most of it by bringing others into the play with smart use of possession.

He also gilded a top-quality performance with a brilliantly taken goal and finished with 1-1 to his name.

Joe Bergin (Offaly)

Now in his 14th season of inter-county hurling with Offaly, Bergin remains a hugely important player for the Faithful County.

He showed his class yet again in their vital Division 1B victory over Carlow on Sunday, finishing with a personal haul of 2-3.

A focal point of the Offaly attack throughout the game, his ability to win ball and bring his fellow forwards into the play was also vital.
