Danny Sutcliffe (Dublin)

Danny Sutcliffe has been in fine form so far this year for Dublin and had his best match yet in their highly entertaining victory over Waterford on Sunday.

The St Jude’s man scored four classy points from play but it was his work-rate and ability to get on the ball that really stood out.

Playing as a roving half-forward, he drifted all over the field to great effect and whenever he won possession he seemed to always take the right option.

Diarmuid Ryan (Clare)

Diarmuid Ryan is having quite the breakthrough season for Clare and was excellent again for the Banner County in their victory over Wexford yesterday.

He scored four points from play and threated with his pace, skill, and finishing ability every time he won the ball in the half-forward line.

Just 19 years of age, Ryan already has the physicality required to handle himself at this level.

Mark Kehoe (UCC)

Mark Kehoe produced a Man of the Match performance as UCC defeated Mary Immaculate College to win their 39th Fitzgibbon Cup title on Saturday.

He scored 1-4 from play in the first 42 minutes of the match and his goal was as good as any you’ll see this year.

The rangy target-man is a serious talent and it will be interesting to see what sort of impact he can make with Tipperary now this year.
