The nominations for GAA.ie Hurler of the Week are Waterford's Calum Lyons, Tipperary's Cathal Barrett, and Donegal's Declan Coulter.

Waterford’s Calum Lyons, Tipperary’s Cathal Barrett, and Donegal’s Declan Coulter are the three nominees for this week’s GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.

The voting process is simple: like their image on the GAA's official Instagram page.

Voting will close at 10am on Tuesday, May 25, and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.

Calum Lyons (Waterford)

Waterford’s flying wing-back, Calum Lyons, is developing into one of the most dynamic defenders in the game. Not content with stopping the opposition, he’s also a potent attacking threat himself which he underlined once again with three points from play for Waterford in their impressive Allianz Hurling League Division 1 victory over Limerick on Sunday.

Cathal Barrett (Tipperary)

Corner-backs rarely get the limelight but there was mistaking Barrett’s class in Tipperary’s Allianz Hurling League Division 1 win over Galway on Saturday. Dominant in the air, hard but fair in the tackle, and imperious in terms of his ability to read the play and clear ball, it was hugely impressive display by the Holycross man.

Declan Coulter (Donegal)

The highly consistent Coulter excelled again for the Donegal hurlers in their big Division 2 win over Mayo. He scored two goals in the space of a minute late in the first half to give his team a winning momentum, and finished with a personal tally of 2-8.

Players of the Week are decided based on votes cast by followers of the Official GAA Instagram page.
