Colin Fennelly was outstanding as Ballyhale Shamrocks proved too strong for St Thomas' in the AIB All Ireland Club decider at Croke Park on St Patrick's Day.

The powerful Kilkenny star struck 2-4 for Henry Shefflin's outfit, who once again delivered when it truly mattered at GAA headquarters.

Joe Canning was in brilliant form for Galway against Wexford in Saturday's Allianz Hurling League Quarter-Final at Pearse Stadium.

Canning finished with a 0-15 haul, but his ability to create other scores and knit the play was equally important.

Dublin had so many heroes against Tipperary at Semple Stadium, but Sean Moran produced a splendid display.

Moran's long range striking was a feature of Dublin's win ensuring Mattie Kenny's charges advanced to the penultimate round of the competition.
