Tony McEntee has been appointed as the new manager of the Sligo senior football team.

McEntee, who won an All Ireland medal with Armagh in 2002, has been given a three year term.

As a manager McEntee led his decorated club, Crossmaglen Rangers, to two AIB All Ireland crowns.

McEntee was a selector for Mayo during Stephen Rochford's spell in charge of the green and red.

Joe Keane will act as McEntee's assistant manager and head coach, while Sean Boyle will be involved in a strength and conditioning role.

Another selector will be added to the Sligo backroom shortly.

Sligo GAA has also confirmed that Dessie Sloyan will remain in charge of the Under 20 inter-county outfit.
