Kildare Senior Football Championship Final

Saturday October 3

Athy v Moorefield, St Conleth's Park, 4.30pm

Inspired by a Niall Kelly goal, Athy caused a shock against champions Sarsfields at the penultimate stage.

Now another demanding task awaits Athy against Moorefield, who edged out Celbridge in the semi-finals.

Athy, who have only collected two titles since 1942, in 1987 and 2011, face Miirefield, who have been a consistent outfit during the past two decades.

In 20 years Moorefield have been crowned champions on nine occasions, while also losing four other finals.

This is a repeat of the eventful 2018 decider when Moorefield prevailed on a 2-12 to 2-9 scoreline.

Cavan Senior Football Championship Final replay

Saturday October 3

Kingscourt v Crosserlough, Kingspan Breffni, 5pm

A thrilling first game went the distance under the Saturday night Kingspan Breffni lights.

David Shalvey and Mark Stuart fired over late points for Crosserlough, who responded following a passionate Kingscourt revival.

With Padraig Faulkner prominent, Kingscourt came thundering back to hit the front, but parity eventually prevailed.

The rematach promises to be equally lively.

Galway Senior Football Championship Final

Maigh Cuilinn v Mountbellew-Moylough, Pearse Stadium, 4pm

Last Sunday supplied so much drama at Pearse Stadium.

Maigh Cuilinn defeated Tuam Stars in a thriller before Mountbellew-Moylough stunned Corofin, who hadn't lost in Galway since 2012.

Now a novel final brings plenty of possibilities involving two clubs armed with plenty of attacking potential.

Eoin Finnerty and Barry McHugh starred for Mountbellew-Moylough when taking the Corofin scalp.

The delightful Dessie Conneely, Owen Gallagher, and Niall Walsh all delivered for Maigh Cuilinn against the Stars. It could be similarly exciting this weekend.

Derry Senior Football Championship Final

Sunday October 4

Magherafelt v Slaughtneil, Bellaghy, 4.30pm

Magherafelt earned Derry glory last year, but know another serious test looms against Slaughtneil.

Having stitched a four in a row winning sequence together between 2014 and 2017, Slaughtneil's excellence is well documented.

The narrow decider triumph over Glen showcased Magherafelt's passion, but Slaughtneil will relish this return to the Derry showpiece.

It has been a highly competitive Derry Championship once more and this match might go the distance too.

Meath Senior Football Championship Final

Rataoth v Gaeil Colmcille, Pairc Tailteann, 2.15pm

Holders Ratoath are preparing for a tough test with Gaeil Colmcille chasing a first Meath Championship since 1991.

In the past five years an improving Gaeil Colmcille have contested four Meath semi-finals.

Ratoath, though, showed their class in 2019 with Conor McGill, Bryan McMahon, and the McGowans influential figures.

Offaly Senior Football Championship Final

Rhode v Tullamore, Bord Na Mona O'Connor Park, 4pm

Rhode will contest a ninth Offaly SFC Final in a row at Bord Na Mona O'Connor Park.

In the previous eight Rhode have collected five titles illustrating just how classy and consistent they have been.

One of the defeats, though, arrived in 2013 against Sunday's opponents Tullamore, who have impressed in recent weeks.

Tullamore remain a traditional and respected force in Offaly so they will be intent on returning to the summit.

Limerick Senior Football Championship Final

Adare v Ballylanders, LIT Gaelic Grounds, 2pm

During the past few years Aare have emerged as serious contenders in Limerick.

Winning two Championships in 2017 and 2018 was a real achievement.

Ballylanders haven't triumphed since 2014, but they were narrowly beaten two years ago in the decider by Adare.

Wexford Senior Football Championship Final

Castletown v Starlights, Chadwicks Wexford Park, 1.30pm

Holders Castletown have enjoyed another productive campaign, but will afford Starlights the utmost respect.

Castletown are joint top of the roll of honour and are intent on adding further silverware to the collection.

Starlights, though, have claimed 10 Championships in their history.
