With the stakes piled high Division Two was always likely to be highly competitive considering the Championship implications.

To illustrate just how interesting it has been, no team has avoided defeat in the opening three rounds.

So things can change quickly in this environment and this weekend's matches carry huge relevance.

Cavan have responded impressively following a disappointing start to glean a couple of wins, but they know a tough test awaits in Enniskillen.

Fermanagh have suffered two defeats themselves so Ryan McMenamin will know just how critical a fixture this one is.

Ennis hosts a vital encounter too with Clare, so impressive and industrious when beating Kildare, face Laois.

With Evan O'Carroll a prominent figure Laois gathered three points from two demanding assignments initially.

Evan O'Carroll is an important player for Laois, who face Clare at Cusack Park on Sunday.

Losing to Cavan, though, hurt so Laois will be seeking an instant response against Colm Collins' determined group.

Jack Cooney's clever and resourceful work ensures Westmeath are a respected team once more and the game with Armagh in Mullingar will be revealing.

Armagh posted a fine and encouraging triumph over Kildare in difficult conditions.

Kieran McGeeney is stitching a strong panel together, but they will treat the Westmeath challenge with the utmost care and respect.

Roscommon's success over Clare put them firmly back in the promotion race, but Kildare away in Newbridge should be an interesting match.

Kildare have suffered two away losses to Clare and Armagh, but Jack O'Connor will want to nudge the Lilywhites towards the business end of the table.

Daniel Flynn's athleticism and ball winning ability is a significant asset and a string of Kildare wins would put them back in the mix.
