Footballer of the Week nominees

Brendan Rogers (Derry)

Derry full-back Rogers was a colossus in Sunday’s Ulster Final victory over Donegal. He defended stoutly, scored three points from play, and set up Conor Glass for the final score of the match that sealed the victory.

Shane Walsh (Galway)

Shane Walsh’s performance against Roscommon in the Connacht Final saw him hailed as “one of the best players I’ve ever seen playing”, by Galway manager Pádraic Joyce after the match. Walsh scored 1-6, 1-3 of it from play, and destroyed the Roscommon defence with his skill and strength.

Con O’Callaghan (Dublin)

O’Callaghan was the sharpest blade in a Dublin attack that cut Kildare to ribbons in the Leinster final. He finished with a personal tally of 1-5, 1-4 from play and a converted mark, and provided Dublin with a highly effective focal point in attack throughout.
