Kerry manager Peter Keane is delighted that Peter Crowley and David Moran are available for the return of inter-county action.

Kerry face two Allianz Football League Division One encounters against Monaghan and Donegal before facing Cork in the Munster Senior Football Championship at Pairc Ui Chaoimh next month.

Keane is encouraged that Crowley is ready following a severe knee injury suffered last year, while Moran missed the early rounds of the League.

"They weren't available now they are training fully," Keane says. "Peter suffered a cruciate ligament injury last year. We were hoping to have him back late March, possibly last two rounds of the league. We were thinking at the time he had been back on the field pre Covid, just before we broke up.

"He has a good few games under his belt now and his district, mid Kerry, got all the way to the county final so he has got a bit of football under his belt, David has had it, we are working towards it with the two of them."

Another source of optimism in Kerry is James O'Donoghue being fully fit once more.

"James got injured in the Galway game and he missed the other three games," Keane states.

"He has had a bit of rest over lockdown and we are looking forward to getting going again. He has had a few knocks. It's not that he has a lot of knocks but he has got knocks at the wrong time.

"Last year after the Mayo game he was in great nick. He started against Mayo in the super eights in Killarney, got a bit of tightness in the hamstring and turned out to be a little bit more than that and pretty much took him out of the rest of our campaign anyway.

"It was just the timing, it hit at a time when it was game on game."
