Fired Up

Fired Up tackles GAA affairs within the Post-Primary and Third Level sectors and also at Minor and U21 level. A publication is published on a quarterly basis by the GAA Games Development Department in association with the Irish Independent.

The official Fired Up website is www.firedup.gaa.ie. The next edition is out tomorrow MAY 12 2010. In this issue of Fired Up, we talk to Dean Rock about his U21 football success with the Dubs, head to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia with DCU Student Barry Watters, talk Carlow Hurling with Alan Corcoran, go down Waterford way with Patricia Jackman and re-live some great College action with St Colman’s of Newry and Banagher College from Offaly. We celebrate Ulster Bank Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Cup success with DCU’s Ronan Flanagan and NUIG’s John Conlon, hop the ball with Fermanagh Ladies football star Sharon Little and head to Louth to find out about GAA Games Development there. We talk focus and concentration with Caroline Currid, get a look at Croker from the Inside Out with Pat Daly, GAA Director of Games, and give a big schoolSHOUT out to Ashbourne CS in Co Meath.

Throughout the publication and website are top player interviews and information to enable players to learn more about developing their full playing potential. You will also see indepth analysis of performance enhancement in areas such as Coaching, Nutrition, Physical Fitness, Psychological Focus and Match Analysis.

In addition, it will provide an insight into the implementation of projects across the GAA Games Development spectrum e.g. Coach Administrator & Referee Education (CARE); the development of Scilabu i.e., recreational Hurling and Football and a behind the scenes look at what’s happening in the GAA research area.
