The Etihad Airways GAA World Games Series comes to Ireland for the first time in August 2016 when players and fans from GAA clubs over the world will travel to Dublin to participate in a momentous week of competitions and events which will culminate in the grand finals in Croke Park on August 12th.

The broad range of traditional and diverse elements that underpin the ethos of the GAA will feature strongly, demonstrating the great power of sport and culture to bring people of every creed and colour together, and this will be reflected in a Cultural Heritage Concert which is due to take place in the Helix Theatre, DCU on Sunday evening, August 07th.

A special concert to mark the opening of this event will be hosted by renowned RTÉ & GAA personality Marty Morrissey, taking centre stage on Sunday 7th August 2016 in DCU. He will present some of the most celebrated national and international artists including: Damien Dempsey, Red Hurley, Lisa Lambe, Black Bank Folk, The Artane Boys' Band, and GAA luminaries including Uachtarán an Chumainn Luthchleas Gael –  Aodhgán Ó Fearghaíl.

International performances by artists from South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Hungary and Japan will also feature, and over 100 GAA musicians and dancers hailing from the four corners of the globe will take part in what promises to be a spectacular evening.

As a general outline the evening will commence with a performance by the Artane Band in the Plaza are of the Helix, DCU at approximately 19:30 and will be interspersed with a range of iconic video moments drawn from the rich source of GAA Games and Personalities.
