Clann na nGael were given a real fright by London's Tir Chonaill Gaels at Dr Hyde Park.

Graham Pettit's 44th minute goal was a key score for the Roscommon outfit, who trailed at the interval.

With Liam Gavaghan, Killian Butler, and goalscorer Eoin Murray causing the home team problems Tir Chonaill Gaels, managed by Paul Coggins, were very much in the reckoning.

After the restart, though, Clann took charge as Donie Shine and Ciaran Lennon clipped important scores.

Ballintubber shaded a tight encounter against Tourlestrane, who had two players sent off, in Enniscrone.

Mayo captain Cillian O'Connor contributed five points for Ballintubber, who now face Aughawillan next weekend.

Kieran O'Leary netted two goals as Dr Crokes cruised to a convincing victory over Moyle Rovers.

Michael Potts added a third goal, while Tony Brosnan struck seven points for an impressive Crokes team.

Tom Barron pounced for a goal as The Nire proved too strong for Adare at the Gaelic Grounds.

In Ulster Gaoth Dobhair were too strong for Cargin, who battled bravely until the end.

Kevin Cassidy, Cian Mulligan, and Michael Carroll grabbed goals for Gaoth Dobhair.

Two first half majors from Colm McGoldrick ensured Coleraine were able to carve out a win against Castlerahan.

Coleraine will now face Monaghan's Scotstown in an intriguing clash at the penultimate stage.

HURLING

At the Gaelic Grounds Na Piarsaigh were always in control emerging 3-22 to 0-13 victors against Clonoulty-Rossmore.

Peter Casey struck 2-2, while Adrian Breen also registered six points from play for the Limerick chanmpions.

Kevin Downes contributed a goal for Na Piarsaigh against a Timmy Hammersley inspired Clonoulty-Rossmore.

Hammersley finished with an eight point haul, but Na Piarsaigh marched into the decider in impressive fashion.
