**Limerick **produced a solid display to defeat Waterford last weekend and new manager John Kiely will continue to ‘rotate’ his panel in this competition against **Cork **at the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday.
The Treatymen responded impressively following a good burst from Waterford, who initially led by 1-10 to 0-5.
Kiely’s team, prompted by the excellent Alan Dempsey, came thundering back as a young Waterford side failed to score for 28 minutes.
John Fitzgibbon was sharp from frees for Limerick, who will look forward to the challenge of facing a Cork side that overcame Kerry in Mallow.
Fintan O’Connor’s Kerry were very much in the reckoning in that game until Cork managed to reel off 13 points without reply.
Shane Kingston made a significant impact for Cork, while Darragh Fitzgibbon netted a first half goal for the Rebels.
Clare’s first game under Gerry O’Connor and Donal Moloney is scheduled for Austin Stack Park in Tralee on Sunday afternoon with **Kerry **keen to provide a stern test.
Injuries and Ballyea’s club commitments rule out a string of players including Paul Flanagan, Tony Kelly, Conor McGrath, David McInerney, and Pat O’Connor.
