Hurler of the Week nominees.

St. Patrick's Day 2017 was a historic one for hurling as Cuala became the first ever Dublin club to win the AIB All-Ireland Club Hurling Championship.

It was a brilliant team performance and the three nominees for Hurler of the Week are unsurprisingly all Cuala men - Darragh O'Connell, John Sheanon, and David Treacy.

The voting process is simple: retweet the image of your chosen player on the GAA's official Twitter account (@officialgaa) or like their image on the GAA's official Facebook and Instagram pages. Voting will close at 10am on Tuesday, March 21 and the winner will be announced on GAA.ie.

Hurler of the Week nominations

Darragh O'Connell - Cuala

Kerry native O'Connell was the dyanmo at the heart of Cuala's energetic All-Ireland winning performance.

He ran the show in midfield, hoovering up a huge amount of ball, and always using it wisely.

A seriously pacy player, Ballyea couldn't cope with O'Connell's scorching runs which yielded him three classy points from play.

John Sheanon - Cuala

Man-marking Tony Kelly is arguably the most arduous task there is in hurling, but Sheanon did it brilliantly in Friday's All-Ireland Final.

He's a serious athlete with an appetite for work and he didn't give Kelly a moment's grace throughout the match.

Not only did he hold Ballyea's chief danger-man scoreless, he chipped in with a point himself in what was a hugely influential performance.

David Treacy - Cuala

You need your leaders to really step forward on the big days and Treacy was a constant, reassuring presence for Cuala throughout the All-Ireland Final.

He always made himself available, won a huge amount of ball, and then used it very wisely.

His free-taking was immaculate - he scored eight of them - and he chipped in with a wonderful point from play too.
