Round Four of the Allianz Football GAA National League Division One sees three games down for decision on Saturday night, while Kerry and Galway is the only Sunday game on the busiest day of the GAA calendar to date this year.
Dublin will put their unbeaten record on the line against Monaghan at Parnell Park, while Conor Counihan's Rebels will take their scorching early season form with them on the long trip to Derry. Pearse Stadium: Galway v Kerry, 2.30pm
Despite losing to Cork last week, the Tribesmen will go into this game in relatively good spirits after their courageous second half display saw then come back from the abyss at half-time to lose by just two points to last year's All-Ireland finalists. Indeed they might have drawn the game at the death.
It's been an up and down start to Joe Kernan's reign, with the opening day defeat to Mayo now firmly consigned to memory following the defeat of Monaghan a week later. However, the loss of Séan Armstrong to a hamstring injury is a major blow as the Salthill man was in fine form before he pulled up in Cork last Saturday night.
The inclusion of Nicky Joyce in the team, despite concerns that he was carrying a shoulder injury is a major boost, as Joyce has been in inspired form this year in tandem with Michael Meehan. Matthew Clancy is also back in action to complete a deadly-looking inside forward line. Paul Conroy has also been included at midfield, despite concerns that he would be rested as he is involved with the U21s against Sligo on Wednesday night.
Kerry boss Jack O'Connor will be restricted in is selection somewhat with the U21s also in action this weekend, against Cork at Austin Stack Park.
The week didn't start well for the Caherciveen man who had to deal Ger Reidy's decision to drop off the panel. Given the sheer number of players the Kingdom are down this year, it will have been an unwelcome distraction for them. Paul Galvin is again suspended, but the return of Darran O'Sullivan, Colm Cooper and Bryan Sheehan to action in the win over Derry last week was a massive boost.
Indeed, a win of any description was a tonic for Kerry who were in danger of the drop after losing their opening games, to Dublin and Cork respectively.
We won't get a repeat of the epic All-Ireland quarter-final played out in a storm in 2008, but a close contest is guaranteed at Pearse Stadium as both sides look for a second win of the campaign.
Galway: E O Conghaile; D O'Neill, F Hanley, D Burke; G O'Donnell, D Blake, D Reilly; B Cullinane, P Conroy; G Sice, J Bergin, N Coleman; M Meehan, N Joyce, M Clancy.
