The sympathies of the GAA were extended to the family of Páidí Ó Sé at today's Central Council meeting where his massive contribution to the Association, both as a hugely successful player and manager, was acknowledged.

In other Central Council business it was decided to defer a decision on a proposal for Congress on new hurling championship structures for 2014 until the next meeting of Ard Chomhairle, which will take place in January.
Central Council chose to select option one from the three proposals for the Allianz Hurling Leagues meaning the 2014 competition will be played with two groups of six counties making up divisions 1A and 1B with the top four teams in both groupings proceeding to quarter-finals.
New match regulations were also confirmed. In relation to personnel who will be admitted to the sideline area during inter-county league and championship games in 2013. This number will be restricted to five - down from 12. Those permitted to this area will be the team manager, maor foirne, one medic and two water/hurley carriers.
