Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Seamus McEnaney

Seamus McEnaney will continue as Meath Senior football manager for the 2012 season.

At a meeting of the Meath County Board on Monday night, the Monaghan native did not face a vote of no confidence and has been given the green light to stay in the role for a second season.

His new management team includes assistant Tom Keague and Graham Geraghty, who will act as a selctor having made a comeback as a player this year.

Geraghty’s return to the squad aged 38 caused considerable consternation, with former selectors Liam Harnan and Barry Callaghan both issuing statements criticisng McEnaney’s management, which were read out at last night's meeting.

The pair both stepped down in the wake of Geraghty’s recall.
