AIB GAA Hurling All Ireland Intermediate Club Championship Final

Mount Leinster Rangers (Carlow) 1-13
Middletown (Armagh) 1-11

14 man Mount Leinster Rangers hung on to complete an amazing victory over Middletown in Croke Park on Saturday evening.

Middletown went in at the break three points up and with Rangers full back Brian Nolan sent off it looked like only a matter of closing out the game.

Martin Maguire had put Middletown into a 1-1 to 0-0 lead but David Phelan responded for Rangers and just moments later Eoin Doyle turned his man with ease and fired into the net to level the sides up.

In the closing stages of the game Eddie Byrne's had a goal disallowed for the Carlow side but three frees from Denis Murphy ensured they would be crowned champions regardless.

AIB GAA Hurling All Ireland Junior Club Championship Final

St Patrick's Ballyragget (Kilkenny) 1-13

Charleville (Cork) 1-12

St Patrick's Ballyragget of Kilkenny were crowned AIB GAA Hurling All Ireland Junior Club Champions after holding off a late fight back from Charleville of Cork.

The Kilkenny side got off to the best possible start with a three point lead within the opening 10 minutes but back came the Rebel side and they were soon level thanks to three points in a row coming from Mervyn Gammell, Danny O'Flynn and Andrew Cagney.

Not much separated the sides at any stage of the first half and this was reflected by the half time score of 0-5 apiece.

Again the Kilkenny side were the brightest after the restart and on 41 minutes their breakthrough came from Seoirse Kenny with the opening goal of the game. Both sides then exchanged points and it looked like St Patrick's would see this game through with relative ease.

However, four points down and with just four minutes on the clock the Cork side managed to drag themselves back into the game through a Gammell goal but it was too little too late.
