Ryan and Bonnar reappointed by Wexford

Wexford managers Jason Ryan and Colm Bonnar were re-appointed on one-year terms by the Wexford County Board on Tuesday night.

Football boss Ryan, whose future was under some doubt, has been ratified for a fourth year at the helm.

Ryan’s side were desperately unlucky to be beaten by Dublin after extra-time in the quarter-finals of the Leinster GAA Championship before bowing out of the All-Ireland series to Cork in the Qualifiers.

His hurling counterpart, Tipperary native Colm Bonnar, has agreed to undertake a third year in charge, having led the Models to promotion back to Division 1 of the Allianz GAA Hurling National League this year.

Both Ryan and Bonnar have indicated that they wish to make some changes to their backroom personnel.

Meanwhile, Tom Cribbin has been re-appointed as Offaly Senior football manager for a third year.

It was unanimously agreed at an Offaly GAA County Board meeting in Tullamore that Cribbin should remain as manager for 2011.

He will continue to be assisted by selectors Declan McGovern and Declan Farrell, and another selector to be appointed.

It is expected that Joe Dooley will inform the County Board in the near future if he is interested in continuing as senior hurling manager.

Elsewhere, former Dublin boss Tommy Lyons has expressed an interest in taking over the vacant Mayo job.

“I've left my name in,” he told the Irish Independent. “Would I be interested? I'd certainly talk to anyone who would be interested in talking to me. I have a lot of close associations with Mayo.'
