Ulster Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final

Fermanagh v Armagh, Brewster Park, 7pm

A spring packed with promise for these two teams, who attained promotion from Division Three of the Allianz Football League.

The first aim in the year has been realised with Armagh eventually claiming silverware in a surprisingly open encounter at Croke Park.

It is unlikely to be as wild and loose on Saturday evening which Kieran McGeeney acknowledged within minutes of last month's decider at GAA headquarters.

There won't be any shortage of intrigue, though, because both outfits will feel that they can make strides in Ulster.

That is what Fermanagh and Armagh intend to do so a revealing 70 minutes awaits in Enniskillen.

Armagh's 2017 backdoor adventure featured wins over Fermanagh, Westmeath, Tipperary, and Kildare before a disappointing loss to Tyrone at the Quarter-Final stage.

Fermanagh have enjoyed a restorative spring with Rory Gallagher at the helm with belief and confidence returning to their system.

Munster Senior Football Championship Quarter-Finals

Limerick v Clare, Gaelic Grounds, 7pm

For the fourth year in a row Limerick and Clare collide. The Banner have won the previous three encounters by a single point in 2017, three in 2016, and two in 2015.

That just shows Limerick, despite a disappointing few months in Allianz Football League Division Four, won't fear this encounter.

Clare dealt adequately with a high turnover of players by enjoying a solid spring in Division Three winning three and drawing two of their seven matches.

Colm Collins is an accomplished operator and will want to guide Clare into a provincial semi-final meeting against Kerry, who they frightened 12 months ago.

CLARE: Eamon Tubridy; Gordon Kelly, Cillian Brennan, Eoghan Collins; Pearse Lillis, Aaron Fitzgerald, Cian O'Dea; Gary Brennan, Cathal O'Connor; Kieran Malone, Eoin Cleary, Jamie Malone; Eibhin Courtney, Keelan Sexton, David Tubridy.

Tipperary v Waterford, Semple Stadium, 7pm

Waterford's last Championship success over Tipperary was achieved back in 1988 and in the intervening years the Premier County have beaten the Deise on eight occasions.

A Munster semi-final against Cork is the prize for whoever prevails in Thurles.

At this stage last year Waterford came within a whisker of causing a massive shock against Cork, who just about survived a real scare.

That means Liam Kearns' charges are well warned that Tom McGlinchey's hard working Waterford can be tricky opponents when in the groove.

TIPPERARY: Evan Comerford; Shane O'Connell, John Meagher, Alan Campbell; Bill Maher, Robbie Kiely, Jimmy Feehan; Liam Casey, Steven O'Brien; Josh Keane, Kevin O'Halloran, Brian Fox; Conor Sweeney, Michael Quinlivan, Liam McGrath.

WATERFORD: Stephen Enright; James McGrath, Brian Looby, Aidan Trihy; Dylan Guiry, Stephen Prendergast, Billy O'Keeffe; Tommy Prendergast, Michael Curry; Conor Murray, Shane Ryan, Kieran Power; Gavin Crotty, Joey Veale, JJ Hutchinson.

Ulster Senior Football Championship

Tyrone v Monaghan, Healy Park, 4pm

Having claimed the last two Ulster titles, Tyrone want to remain perched on the northern summit.

Monaghan, though, enter this game encouraged by a decent spring in Allianz Football League Division One with a victory over Dublin in their last group match offering an injection of confidence.

While that match didn't carry any huge value it still supplied Monaghan with a pre-Championship boost ahead of this tasty tussle with Tyrone.

With Mickey Harte in charge of Tyrone for a 16th campaign, the Red Hands remain serious contenders and they will want to produce a performance on home turf.

All Ireland Quarter-Final successes for Tyrone over Monaghan in 2013 and 2015 were blows for Malachy O'Rourke's team, who continue to deliver wholehearted displays.

O'Rourke's work with Monaghan is worthy of the utmost respect, and they will want to take the prized Tyrone scalp in Omagh.

TYRONE: Niall Morgan; Padraig Hampsey, Ronan McNamee, Cathal McCarron; Tiernan McCann, Frank Burns, Peter Harte; Colm Cavanagh, Mattie Donnelly; Cathal McShane, Niall Sludden, Conor Meyler; Lee Brennan, Connor McAliskey, Mark Bradley.
