AIB Leinster Club SFC Final

Moorefield v St Loman's, O'Moore Park, 2pm

A blanket of snow on the O'Moore Park pitch forced a postponement last Sunday, but Moorefield and St Loman's will hit the Portlaoise venue this weekend adamant that Leinster glory can be secured.

Ultimately that is why so much interest surrounds this encounter - both teams feel that victory is attainable.

Sub-plots exist too. Moorefield have strong links with their 2006 success, Loman's are hoping for a first ever triumph at this level and Luke Dempsey stands on the sideline.

Dempsey guided Moorefield to a couple of Kildare titles before taking charge of Loman's steering them to three Westmeath victories on the spin.

That is a run of five county successes in a row for Dempsey, who has in depth knowledge of Moorefield's strengths.

Making flying starts has aided Moorefield in several matches this year, but Loman's comebacks against St Columba's, Mullinalaghta and Simonstown Gaels demonstrated their resolve.

Loman's increasing depth and the quality of Ken Casey and Shane Dempsey supplements the polished and prolific John Heslin.

Paddy Dowdall is a shrewd and experienced figure, while Paul Sharry will buzz around craving involvement.

Eanna O'Connor and Niall Hurley Lynch starred for Moorefield when they overcame Rathnew, while Daryl Flynn and Ronan Sweeney are seasoned campaigners.

Few can predict who will prevail with any great certainty so this promises to be a tight and tense affair.
