Electric Ireland Minor Football Championship Semi-Final

Cavan v Kerry, Croke Park, 1.30pm

A late Cavan flurry dumped Galway out at the Quarter-Final stage.

Oisin Pierson was an influential figure in that gritty Cavan success firing 1-3 during a tight encounter at Pairc Sean MacDiarmada.

Cavan have been highly competitive at Under 21 level for much of the past decade, but now they want to make an impact in the minor grade at Croke Park.

Kerry, though, will provide formidable oppoistion with the ultra-promising David Clifford a most capable attacker.

Having claimed three All Ireland titles in a row high hopes are attached to this current crop down south also.

Clifford kicked nine points, including six from play, in the Quarter-Final win over Louth, while Brian Friel was also sharp in attack.

Cavan will need to restrict the supply of possession into a potent Kerry forward line.

At the opposite end Cavan will hope that Ruairi Curran and Cian Madden can pose problems for the Kingdom.
