For Dublin GAA fans, affinity with Hill 16 runs strong and deep. On any given Sunday, when Dublin are playing, the terrace is a sea of blue as more than 13,000 avid fans claim their place on the iconic terrace. And for most, swapping their ticket for the Hogan, Davin, or Cusack would be sacrilege.

For many others, being a part of the electric atmosphere on Hill 16 is an experience yet to be relished but now AIB - proud sponsors of the GAA Football Championships and the GAA Club Championships - are offering you a unique opportunity.

As a part of its summer ‘Club Fuels County’ campaign, AIB has created the first GAA 360 video which fans can view on Facebook. As the video plays, your surroundings come alive as fans are transported to Croke Park, fully immersed in the game day action happening all around them. Viewers can explore every angle and move around within the video by turning their device or moving the cursor on screen.

Facebook introduced 360 video on the platform in September 2015 and this campaign by AIB is the first to use this stunning and captivating tool to share immersive stories, places and experiences with GAA fans.

Shot in Ambisonic sound for a wholly immersive experience and launched on the 25th of August ahead of Dublin’s All Ireland Semi-Final against Kerry, AIB tells the story of what it means to support your team, through the eyes of former Dublin Footballer and Ballymun Kickhams star, Alan Hubbard. Filmed in collaboration with Ballymun Kickhams and at Dublin’s Quarter-Final victory against Donegal, now you can experience what it’s like to be part of the Hill 16 Army!

Mark Doyle, AIB Group Brands Director commented “In AIB we place our customers at the heart of everything we do and we have taken a similar approach to our GAA sponsorships. We are always searching for new ways to celebrate and showcase GAA.”

Doyle continued: “The introduction of 360 video on Facebook has provided us with another platform to be innovative with our campaigns and to create immersive content, allowing us to bring fans even closer to the action.”

Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Aogán Ó Fearghaíl commented: “AIB have been partners with the GAA for more than 25 years now and we’re delighted that they continue to positively showcase our national games through their engaging campaigns and content. We really enjoyed being part of the action on the Hill when we viewed AIB’s 360 video and we hope fans will too.”

The campaign was launched Facebook’s international headquarters in Dublin.
